Eric Egan makes the patterns dance in his Milan showroom

Eric Egan makes the patterns dance in his Milan showroom Big station with wallpaper: In Milan, decorator Eric Egan invited to his vibrant domicile - and demonstrated ingenious wall patterns. "Great, the living room now looks like an old lady's room!" When Eric Egan, decorator with US roots, talks about his Milan showroom apartment (he owns a second one for sleeping), irony is in the air like a fleeting perfume. The grandiose ladies he is referring to, and of whom he has met quite a few in his life, are all larger than life , such as the twin sister of the last Shah of Persia, from whose former estate Egan's "Pissarro" between the living room windows comes. Egan's living room with jagged wallpaper "Bargello" on the walls. "Zigzags were around 1000 years ago!" Lizzie Deshayes, designer The apartment overlooking Castello Sforzesco previously belonged for 40 years to a signora named Carlotta - probably she too was one of those h

A new base for Wilkhahn's modern classic

Image
A new base for Wilkhahn's modern classic Boss transformation Launched by Wilkhahn in 2012, the Graph armchair quickly became a popular protagonist in the contract sector with its characteristic silhouette and luxurious appearance. Its lines flow dynamically and make it appear as if it were cast from a single mold, while its modular structure of frame, seat and backrest actually allows for a wide range of modifications. Now Wilkhahn has extended the possibility for variation to the base as well. The new, five-arm base with infinitely variable seat height adjustment is ideally suited for use at executive workstations. The swivel column can be adjusted via a gas pressure spring and the release lever is elegantly guided parallel to the support of the chair. It leads to the seat shell via permanently elastic connectors and is supplemented by a rear-mounted leaf spring. Both, in combination with the spring-loaded upholstery, ensure elastic mobility. The backrests are available in two

The 25hours Hotel in Vienna attracts with whimsical details from circus and vaudeville

Image
The 25hours Hotel in Vienna attracts with whimsical details from circus and vaudeville J each hotel a different world: the 25hours hotel chain stands for individual concepts that give each of the properties a unique design. For the guest house in Vienna, the designers from Dreimeta developed the extravagant idea of a circus ring and transformed it into an inspiring sphere of improvisation and illusion. And it gets even more colorful: Not only the hotel, but also the 217 rooms and suites became truly unique. A former student dormitory, previously renovated and expanded by BWM Architekten from Vienna, served as a stage and field of experimentation for the Augsburg interior designers from Dreimeta. The goal was to give the rooms and all other furnishings an independent profile and an emotional mood, according to the designers. The central theme of the circus, according to the hotel operator, seemed particularly suitable for this purpose, as it not only reminds people of their own child

Tarkovsky's dream: a country house made of brick and concrete

Tarkovsky's dream: a country house made of brick and concrete A house where nothing is as it seems. Architect Adam Richards used concrete, brick and his passion for movies to create a foolhardy farm where appearance and reality are close. It was the gritty Soviet science fiction film "Stalker," of all things, that was the inspiration for a country house in tranquil West Sussex. "I know it's strange," says Adam Richards. But the architect is obsessed with Andrei Tarkovsky's masterpiece, about three men wandering through a post-apocalyptic no-go area. The place of longing in this wasteland is a space meant to make one's most fervent desires come true - if one doesn't die on the way there. "There are certain parallels to building a house," Richards says. "Namely: embarking on a journey to your inner self, to find a place in the world for yourself to arrive." The sheep in front of the house obviously don't care. The sun s

Jesolo, Netherlands Antilles, London: In the most beautiful places in the world, luxurious buildings are furnished with ceramic tiles from Mosa. A white cube surrounded by wind-bent pines. In the garage: a gold-colored vintage car. On the walls in the entrance hang lamps in the shape of a female breast. They are joined by massive wooden furniture. On the floor of the rather extravagant house: tiles of the Dutch manufacturer Mosa. Whether it's the cubic house with the unusual interior by Dutch design duo Studio Job, the snow-white villa on the beach in Jesolo, the vacation retreat in the Netherlands Antilles, the converted water tower in London or the terraced luxury apartment in Winterthur - all these architectural projects have one thing in common: they are fitted with tiles from Mosa. Discover the possibilities The Dutch manufacturer produces ceramic floor, wall, terrace and façade tiles - around six million square meters per year, since 1883 already. In the design studio,

Lorenz + Kaz

Lorenz + Kaz Two Germans in Milan: The designs of Lorenz + Kaz are characterized by Nordic temperament and Italian design. For AD, the two are among the best designers in Germany. On "Coco", the upholstered chairs of Catharina Lorenz and Steffen Kaz, the elephant round of the G7 already met. An international stress test for which their latest design is still waiting. After all, "Mint", produced by Rossin, is about waiting room modules. The two moved to Italy in the mid-1990s, founded their design office in Milan in 2001, and have since worked there for global players such as De Padova, Alcantara, and Antonio Lupi. In public places, "Mint" is meant to sweeten the waiting time. AD: What or who has influenced you the most in your career? Lorenz and Kaz: Our studies and various internships certainly set the tone for our careers, but we were most influenced by working with Ettore Sottsass and James Irvine. What material do you prefer to work with? Initi

A chair for Martians

Image
A chair for Martians Life on Mars: Thomas Missé has designed a chair for the red planet. And asks: How many chairs fit in a spaceship? Thomas Missé is sure: "Soon mankind will dare the first resettlement on Mars!", says the designer, who recently developed the "Mars Chair" for this purpose. Missé would like to take it with him to Mars, because it can be stacked on top of each other without any problems thanks to its centimeter-precise fit, thus saving not only space but also money, since experts reckon with enormous transport costs between Earth and Mars. What's more, at a net weight of just 500 grams, the carbon "Mars Chair" can easily carry a sumo wrestler, according to the designer. So if a heavyweight ventures to the red planet in the near future, he will have found the perfect companion in Missé's design. 8 Decor Items You Can Find Secondhand Online

Rejon's three lights are beautifully colorful and suspended.

Rejon's three lights are beautifully colorful and suspended. Floating colors It takes a bit of courage to color block, but the serenity it creates gives courage - perhaps to more colorful. Especially in the home, large-scale pops of color involuntarily create a good mood. A first lively intervention could be these lights from the Potsdam design studio Rejon. Franz Dietrich and Jakob Blazejczak have developed a series of pendant lamps in basic colors and shapes that invite colorful combinations in groups. Ten textile colors are available for the lampshades, which can be monochrome or covered with up to three different textiles. They are manufactured by hand in a family business - which is why special requests are also taken into account. There are therefore hardly any limits to the playfulness. tp The Top Bed Bug Exterminators Of 2022

Posts Tagged "delicious smoothies" I've been into food and nutrition for quite some time now. You may even remember our Goodbye 2015 & Welcome 2016 blog post with our 2016 resolutions. You see, in 2015 I resolved to exercise more and also eat healthier. I know that pretty much everyone has that as a resolution and it has almost become a phrase you hear every year. At the time, though, I was serious about it and was a bit surprised myself about this goal, since I was hardly interested in it before. Early on, however, it was clear to me that I would get a lot closer to the goal with a blender and juicer, because I've seen that again and again with friends and was now also hooked. Both I have bought in the course of the year from Klarstein and am more than satisfied with the quality and performance. Now I would like to introduce you to a few delicious and healthy smoothie recipes. Maybe I can motivate one or the other to try out the simple recipes themselves. 6 V

"Succession" and Co.: These series sets are legendary - and embody outrageous luxury On the Sky launch of season 3 of "Succession": why the HBO series feels so outrageously luxurious. The third season of "Succession" can be seen in Germany on Sky Ticket. Photo: David M. Russell/HBO ©2020 HBO. All Rights Reserved Legendary series sets that perfectly embody their time of origin. "Succession" is just entering its third round on Sky: the series about fictional U.S. media and entertainment mogul Logan Roy and his heirs, stirs deep emotions and a lot of escapism. As the Roy siblings manipulate each other for control of their media empire, it's tempting to just marvel at the sumptuous surroundings and let your inner voice guide you: "I've never seen a country estate furnished with such elegant furniture; Kendall Roy doesn't even appreciate the magnificent spiral staircase in his ex-wife's Upper East Side apartment; I wonder i
