Vitra Summit 2020: Virtual exchange and discussions about the working world of tomorrow

On October 22 and 23, the design institution Vitra invites to its first global (and virtual!) Summit: In a streaming format, guests such as Stefano Boeri, Virgil Abloh, Joseph Grima or Esther Perel will discuss the working world of the future - how it will have to adapt in the long term, face a new reality. The speakers come from a wide variety of fields: from design to architecture and museums to yoga and psychotherapy. And they all address the question of how work and life can be designed safely in the future without neglecting social as well as individual well-being.

On October 22 and 23, the Vitra Summit will discuss spaces in the broadest sense. The Swiss design company is hosting its first global streaming summit: a two-day virtual event with panels and workshops on the topic of "working environments." It will shed light on how this is changing significantly - and how it can be organized with a view to a new reality. In short: How can offices and workspaces be designed to be pandemic and future-proof without neglecting social and individual well-being?

From Nora Fehlbaum, Vitra CEO, to architect and urban planner Stefano Boeri, architectural historian Beatriz Colomina, Designer and creative director Virgil Abloh to writer Mason Currey, they will all face the topic, but also museum directors, yoga teachers and psychotherapists. The program is divided into four sequences: "The Human and the Office" and "Design Matters" will take place on Thursday (October 22), while "Dynamic Spaces" and "Remote World" promise interesting debates on the second day of the Summit (October 23).

Questions such as "Will the office disappear?" and "How to reimagine workplace collaboration to allow for more digital interaction?" will be addressed. The session will include talks with renowned psychotherapist Esther Perel, interior designer Sevil Peach, professor at INSEAD Gianpiero Petriglieri and others.
