Digital is better: new control for the bathroom from Dornbracht
The digitalization of our everyday lives is a reality that can hardly be reversed. The central question is therefore how user-friendly the technologies are and how naturally we can use them. And whether they really meet our needs. Today, at the ISH 2013 trade fair in Frankfurt, the German company Dornbracht is presenting the answer for the bathroom: Smart Water technology. Smart Water integrates numerous options for digitalization in the bathroom. It is an intelligent system that interconnects components and conveniently facilitates and individualizes applications.
The core of Smart Water is a control element that combines the advantages of digital and analog worlds with a display switch and two rotary controls. The controls can be operated as usual with a single hand movement, while the display offers intuitive operation at the touch of a finger, but without complicated menu navigation. The display is a kind of electronic switch and not a touchscreen like smartphones or tablets. As we know, these don't get along so well with wet hands. Another new feature of Smart Water is that the controls can be arranged separately from the water outlet points: The individually designed bathroom tailored to personal needs is literally within reach with Smart Water. All elements of the technology, both the hardware and the software, have been developed by Dornbracht itself. jj
